You need a well written profile, one the stands out and sets you apart from everyone else. A well written profile will excite and interest future prospective dates and give them a reason to pick you.

Make sure you use an up to date photo of yourself, the best one you have. I for one hate forms especially Tax forms or Government forms, I put them off to the last minute.

Now it is time to get down to business. You have your list now we are going to turn it into a profile. Take the items on your list one at a time and expand on them. Write as you would if telling a friend but be specific rather than general. Saying that you love movies doesn't tell the reader anything about you at all because 99% of the population like going to the movies. So Instead say I like Horror movies, or cowboy movies, or whatever type of movies you like. The same when talking about music, there is a huge difference between classical and hip hop. So take your general list and expand on it and you will find you soon have a profile.

Show you have a sense of humour by making your profile funny, don't just say you have a good sense of humour. In my research I have seen some very funny and clever profiles. If you feel you can write one as good do so. Look at what others have to say in their profiles it will give you some ideas.

Avoid writing about the past, your ex lovers or anything that might suggest that you still have some baggage. Let it go, and if you can't then perhaps give yourself more time. In some cases you might need to seek help. If you have been through a break up it is natural to feel a sense of loss, this is normal, you don't need to rush of to the Doctor for some tranquillizers, give your self some time to get over it.

While you should have high expectations, don't have them so high to eliminate almost all possible suitable partners. You never know what is in the future, love makes no sense, that's why they call it falling in love so keep an open mind if you can.

This is just my personal opinion, but if you are writing a profile, don't be too explicit even if your writing one for an adult site. I find the really explicit profiles a bit sleazy and a real turn off, if you want to get down and dirty there will be opportunity as you get to know someone. I might be out of step with everyone's thinking on this one, but I think it is good to keep some mystery in a relationship.
